Country of Origin

The name Siketa is derived from the name Siketic. In the late 1700's the name was changed to Siketa.

 

The family originated from the Island of Lastovo. The Island is located on the southern part of Croatia (Dalmatia) with natural beauties, clean sea, rich with fish.  Check out - https://tz-lastovo.hr/en/

The Island is surrounded by 46 smaller islands and cliffs with untouched nature and numerous bays.

Upon arriving from Croatia in the 1953 the majority of the Siketa family settled in Geelong, Australia - https://www.geelongaustralia.com.au/

 

The word Geelong was derived from the Aboriginal word for bay Jillong,  Geelong means a place of the sea bird over the white cliffs.
